Description
The Church of the Sacramento stands within the castle walls, in the hamlet of Castelluccio.
It had already been dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta and was the parish church of Castellucio until Santa Maria Assunta was built. It changed its name at the very beginning of the 17th century, borrowing it from the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament, founded there approximately half a century beforehand. It was transformed many times, until it was no longer served and was used for social and cultural functions. The table and the two sixteenth-century caissons decorated with Angels in relief, which came from here, now form the high altar of the parish Church.
